What a strange weather week .. hot and sunny, cool and cloudy, cold and rainy .. I guess that is a sure sign that the seasons are changing. At least the weather was good for our anniversary celebrations on Wednesday.
Thank you to Jasmine’s mom for organizing the 3B flea market stand we made about NT$1,800 and donated about NT800 to the school and kept the rest for our class fund.
Well done to all the students for rehearsing so well and then performing like absolute stars on Wednesday.
In Science this week we continued learning about the planets, and then looked at how seasons and day and night occur and also at the phases of the moon.
In Math we have finished the first chapter on division which covered dividing by 2, 3, and 4. Well done to everyone for doing so well on the test on Friday. Most of the class got 100% or only 1 mistake. I am really proud of you all. Next week we continue dividing using bigger numbers.
This week we updated our "3B's got talent" board. We included everyone's dialogue and compare and contrast stories. Also on the board are some color poems. Great work everyone!
In English we read the play “Backstage with Chris and Casey” where we learned about the role of the director, actors, designers, and stage manager in putting together a play. We reviewed theme 4’s phonics: r controlled vowels which sound like “or” and are spelled or, ore, our, oar, and ar. r controlled vowels which sound like “ir” and are spelled ir, er, ur, or, and ear. We also reviewed suffixes –er, -est, -ly, -ful and prefixes un–, re-, and dis-. In Grammar we reviewed adjectives which answer how many and what kind of noun, articles (an, a, and the), and action verbs. All of this will be on the midterm exam.
Everyone did extremely well in this week’s English test with 80% of all the students making 2 mistakes or less. Great work everyone.
Don’t forget to review this week’s work for our test on Monday.
Thanks Alica, Gloria, Jolene, and Nicole for making such a wonderful class poster. It is one display on the stairwell between Grades 2 and 3.
In Social studies we completed the section on immigration and famous immigrants to the US such as Albert Einstein.
Happy Birthday Elijah. I hope you had a great day.

Well done to everyone who received Homework machine certificates this week. Great work on doing your homework so well each day.
I have asked the 3B subject teachers to choose a student or a couple of students to recognize for a job well done. This week was Mrs. Hsieh’s (the Chinese teacher) turn and she would like to congratulate Nicole for being organized, helpful, and caring. Well done Nicole.
3B you are all doing such a great job! Keep up the good work!
You are all stars!
Have a great weekend everyone
